Soft skills development in higher education institutions

چکیده

This study aimed to explore how soft skills development is done in higher education institutions (HEIs) by considering the roles of HEIs and students. The used a mixed research approach comprising qualitative quantitative methods. Qualitative data was collected from 16 students using semi-structured interviews. In comparison, standard questionnaire 342 pursuing management administrative undergraduate programmes one universities Tanzania. Through questionnaires, participants were asked rank according their relevance careers. top five most relevant identified communication, leadership, decision-making, teamwork/orientation problem-solving. addition, self-evaluated levels skills. Findings demonstrate that perceived have more customer orientation, problem-solving, work-ethic interviews, narrated role developing personal initiatives acquire It found joining clubs associations, taking leadership roles, reading self-development books, watching videos attending training are use for acquisition.
